Photon Developer's Toolkit for QNX*

The Photon microGUI* is a high-performance, full-featured embeddable windowing system with an extremely small memory footprint (under 500K). The Photon microGUI is ideal for environments where performance, flexibility, or minimal memory use is important. Photon offers built-in internationalization, anti-aliased scalable fonts, internet access, remote connectivity from QNX* to Windows NT*, Windows* 95, or X Window System desktops, and more. The only windowing system based on a microkernel architecture, the Photon microGUI is fully scalable, leaving embedded-systems developers free to remove any services not needed by memory-constrained products.

Use the Photon Developer's Toolkit to create feature-rich applications for even the smallest x86-based products. The Photon Developer's Toolkit contains a comprehensive collection of libraries, sample applications, self-contained widgets, and online documentation. Our powerful visual design tool, the Photon Application Builder/Code Generator (PhAB*), lets developers create prototypes without writing a line of code, build an entire interface with point-and-click simplicity, and create applications with a consistent look and feel. Translate your application into a number of different languages quickly and easily using PhAB's language editor.

Connectivity options include Phindows* (Photon in Windows) or PhinX* (Photon in X) to control embedded and consoleless devices remotely from your GUI of choice, including Windows NT*, Windows* 95, or X Windows. Other options include Voyager* Internet Technology (including the Voyager Browser, web servers, development tools, and more) or for those who don't yet have QNX and Photon, the Internet Appliance Toolkit (IAT*).
